Photo by Robert PaulDown Back Club is a Los Angeles-based fighting game events company I founded with my business partner Sammy "Gooms" Curreri in 2023. We run a variety of fighting game focused tournaments, events, and meetups in the LA area.
My responsibilities include organizing events, marketing, social media, live broadcast producing, on-camera hosting/commentating, business development, and much more
Our current lineup of events includes:
Down Back Tuesdays - bi-weekly tournament in Downtown LA
DBC x NRG Spectrum Castle Clash - monthly tournament in collaboration with NRG Esports, hosted at their Spectrum Castle gaming facility
Our events have featured hundreds of unique entrants across 8+ titles. In just over a year of operation, Down Back Club has grown rapidly to become one of the largest and most prominent FGC events companies in the Southern California area. We're currently focused on laying the groundwork to host a FGC major in the future, and also expanding our business into a clothing brand and a custom controller manufacturer.
